Our Ten Core Beliefs
1. We believe that there is only one true God, creator of all things who has revealed Himself as eternally existing in three distinguishable yet indivisible persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; (Isaiah 45:5, 18, 22; Luke 3:21-22; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
2. We believe that mankind was created by God in His image and is not the product of evolution; that he fell into sin through direct disobedience to God; he marred God's image in himself, subjected all of creation to depravity, and is unable to save or restore himself (Genesis 1:26-28, 2:7, 18-24, 3:1-24, 9:6; Matthew 19:4; Mark 7:21-23; John 8:42-44; Romans 1:18, 3:10, 23, 5:1; Ephesians 2:1-3).
3. We believe in the Incarnation of Jesus the Christ, the Son of the living God; that he was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is both fully God and fully man (John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:9-18; Is. 7:14, 9:6; Luke 1:26-35, 37; Revelation 1:4-8; 22:12-16).
4. We believe that there is a literal Satan, the origin of sin, and reason for mankind’s fall, and that he and his demons are destined to judgment and eternal punishment in the lake of fire. (Genesis 3:1-8; Matthew 4:1-11; Luke 8:26-36; Matt 8:28-29; Revelation 20:1-10)
5. We believe in the Substitutionary Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus; that he died on a cross shedding his blood in our stead; was buried and raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit and so fulfilled Old Testament prophecy and redemption for mankind. (Isaiah 53: 1-6; Luke 24:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:1-8; Hebrews 9:12-14, 22; 1 Peter 2:24).
6. We believe that man’s salvation is an un-earned favor, that it is received by embracing the shed blood of Christ, his burial and resurrection as substitutionary for one’s sin and that this is the only way to salvation, eternal life and the kingdom of God, and not on the basis of good deeds. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Rom. 10:6-17; Rom. 5:1-2; John 3:3,5,14-17; 2 Cor 5:13-15, 17; Col 2:12; Rom. 6:4; Eph. 2:8-9).
7. We believe that the Scriptures of the Bible were written under the inspiration and influence of the Holy Spirit, that they are the inspired word of God and contain the exclusive rules of mankind’s faith and practice. (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Tim 3:16).
8. We believe in the infilling of the Holy Spirit to empower believers to both share and prove their testimony of Jesus (24:44-49; John 7:37-39; Acts 2:38-39, I Cor. 12, Acts 2:4; 10:44-48; 19:6; Rom 12:6-8; 1 Cor 12:8-10; Eph 4:7-12Lke ).
9. We believe that the local church as the primary entity through which God has chosen to disciple the believer through worship, fellowship, Scripture based teaching and manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:7-16; Acts 2:42-47 )
10. We believe in the imminent return of Jesus; a "Second Coming," followed by a resurrection of the dead, and after judgment the righteous will be rewarded, but the wicked will be condemned (Daniel 12:1-3; John 5:25-29; 1 Corinthians 15:50-57; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-5:6; Revelation 20:11- 21:7).
